October 1st 2025 - Annual SNAP Updates for 2025-2026 SNAP Benefit and Income Limit Updates in Arkansas starting October 2025

Every year on October 1st, the federal government adjusts SNAP (food stamp) benefits to reflect changes in the cost of living and other important factors.

Here are some key changes:
  • Maximum Monthly Benefit Amounts: The highest amount a household can receive in SNAP benefits is updated. This amount depends on the size of your household. Raising the maximum amount will have an equivalent benefit increase for almost all households.
  • Income Eligibility Standards: The income limits used to determine eligibility for SNAP benefits are updated based on changes in the federal poverty guidelines. This doesn't have any impact on benefit amounts, but can make more people eligible.
  • Deductions: Certain deductions, like the standard deduction and shelter cost deduction, which can reduce your countable income, are also updated.

While SNAP is changing due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the only change that will directly impact benefit amounts will likely come into effect on November 1st, affecting some households who do not pay a heating or cooling bill separate from their rent AND do not have anyone over 60 or with a disability in their household AND currently receive LIHEAP.

The charts below list the before and after maximum benefits and monthly income limits for SNAP in Arkansas.
